Thoughtful Gardening Products
I love gardening. I had one of my senior pictures taken against one of the 4-foot high tobacco plants that I grew when I was 17 years old. (My poor parents!)
Somewhere between my English major, welding and machine shop classes, an MBA and a successful exit from a successful business startup, I developed the ability to conceive and design mechanical things that people find useful. Things that make people smile.
Today, I’m happy to introduce Carnival Gardens to you. Carnival Gardens is a team of people that work together to make Thoughtful Gardening Products for people like you. Our Common Sense Cold Frame is our first product; many more are in development. (Bookmark us and come back next spring or sign up for our newsletter for updates.)
We don’t pretend to be experts in everything, nor do we feel like we have to produce tools in every area. The last pair of loppers that I bought may last me a lifetime. Some of the new small handheld weeding tools are awesomely useful. (Who would have thought that a sharpened disc could be so useful?) The men and women that make good gardening products really do a great thing for all of us.
We hope to create products that range from the practical (like our self-regulating cold frame) to the “why didn’t I think of that?” Humans have been gardening for thousands of years, and there are still problems that need to be solved!
What will you see from Carnival Gardens before the end of 2012? Well, standalone self-openers for cold frames and downloadable (free!) cold frame plans are both scheduled before end of year. We have a special new netting and trellising material coming out this fall, as well.
2013 will see tomato gardening accessories plus some all-new-to-market gardening tools that overcome some of my most basic frustrations with getting seeds in the ground at the right time and in the right place. We’re also moving along with some design work on products that will help us deal with the timely harvest and collection of all of nature’s bounty.
Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you again!
